CSC U10 Storm – Virginian Silver Division Finalists

The Storm girls used strong defense and timely scoring to advance to the
finals of the 2010 Virginian Tournament. After yielding a PK goal early in the
first game of the tournament, the Storm did not give up another goal until
about halfway through the finals. The final game ended in a 1-1 draw after
regulation time, and the Storm finally fell to a strong Sterling team in
overtime. Despite the heat and only having two substitutes, the Storm players
gave great effort and executed well all of the skills we have worked so hard
on developing. Congrats to the Storm for a great finish to the spring season!

Chantilly returns from USYS National Championships after good showing
They arrived in
Lancaster, MA and settled in and begun the process of preparing for the
competition against the three (3) Regional Champions as well as the National
League Champion & runner up. Monday & Tuesday, they attended the required
lunch and dinner banquets getting the oppurtunity to hold the National
championship trophy in the hope of adding it to their Region one hardware
shelf.
Chantilly Burn vs FC Pennysvania Strikers (1-1)
The first game on Wednesday, Chantilly faced an old foe in FC Pennysvania
Strikers bright and early. Chantilly struck first on a deflection off the
goalie by Olivia to go up by one into the half. After the break, FC Penn hit a
bullet into the back of the net off a corner kick loose on the equalizer. Both
teams fought back and forth until regualation to end in a tie.
Chantilly Burn vs SO Cal Blues (0-0)
In game two against the SO Cal Blues, both teams were very physical and it
was starting to turn into a brawl. At mid-point of the half the game begin to
settle in with Chantilly pressing and SO Cal counter-attacking with near hits
for both teams. The last ten minutes had Chantilly with multiple shots just
missing but the game ended in a draw.
Chantilly Burn vs Scott Gallagher (MO) (1-1)
The third game time was pushed forward a few hours due to the rain storm of
the previous night. It also offered both teams the oppurtunity to play on the
beautiful turf fields at the park. As in the first game, Chantilly hit pay
dirt with a "bend it like Beckham" corner kick by Melissa mid-way through the
first half. Chantilly maintained that score until the break. During the second
half, Scott Gallagher (MO) found a loose ball in front of the goal for the
equalizer. Multiple chances presented themselves the rest of the way but no
goals were added.
The experience of playing at such a high level tournament against the best
youth soccer teams in the country was well worth the time put in during
practice throughout the spring. We enjoyed representing Virginia Youth Soccer
Association (VYSA) as the U15G Region 1 Champion as well as continuing to
prove that the Washington Area Girls Soccer (WAGS) League is one of the most
competitive in the country. The ladies didn't come away with the hardware but
they left it on the field and competed well. Congrats to all the other teams
in reaching the pininacle of youth soccer!
Coach Jorden after the tournament: "Its been one hell of a long Spring and
Summer for us, and a great one at that. I am so proud of this team and our
accomplishments. The experience we've gained winning Region One and playing at
the National Championship will be something our players take with them for the
rest of their lives!"
The U-17 Electrics Advance to Finals of Spring 2009 - Virginian College
Showcase Tournament
 The Electrics played
up in age at the Virginian Tournament in the U-19 College Showcase Cup Flight
comprised of (16) teams from the U.S. and Canada over the Memorial Day
weekend. The Electrics compiled a record of 3 wins and 1 tie. In the
finals the Electrics faced the U-19 Vista Hotshot's that are made up of NCAA
D-1 college soccer freshmen. The Electrics scored first on a corner kick
against last years H.S. All Met Player of the Year & Goalie - Katherine Yount.
It was a great competitive Final that ended in a 2-1 win for Vista.
Congratulations to the Chantilly Electrics! The Electrics will be playing
WAGS D-1 this Fall 2009 season.
Blast Explode as Bull Run Tournament Champions!
The Chantilly Blast - Boys U13
team, finished with 9 points (3-1-0) to win the 2009 Bull Run Tournament in
the Boys U13/U14 division. In the final emotional match against the McLean
U14 Hotspur White, with a diminished bench due to injuries and with their
brother Chantilly U14 Los Rojos Bandidos cheering them on, the Blast scored on
a rebound from a set piece just outside the box in the final seconds to get
the 3 points they needed to push them into first place. Congratulations to
the boys for a great tournament result!
Los Rojos Bandidos win the prestigious Randy Rawls Sportsmanship Award for
the Fall 2008 ODSL season

Los Rojos Bandidos, a CSC U14 Boys team, won the prestigious Randy Rawls
Sportsmanship Award for the Fall 2008 ODSL season, which was also their first
season as a travel team. The team's record for the season was 6-2 with an
average 5.5 (out of 6) sportsmanship points per game.
Each season the coaches in the ODSL vote for a team in their division which
exhibits the best sportsmanship. In addition to the coaches votes, sportsmanship
points are averaged from each referee report card. Also, points are subtracted
for yellow and red cards accumulated during the season. The prestigious award is
named after Randy Rawls, one of the leagues original founders and its first
President. The award honors the winner’s sense of fair play, something for which
Randy was renowned as he sought to bring soccer opportunities to the youth of
Northern Virginia. Randy has since retired to Florida where he authors detective
mystery books www.randyrawls.com
In addition to the honor of being selected for this award by their peers, the
team will receive 20 FREE tickets to see D.C. United play at an MLS regular
season match in 2009. Friends and family members will also be able to join them
for a special discounted rate. The team will also receive a congratulatory
plaque; an opportunity to get a team picture with the MLS Cup trophy; and the
team will be recognized during a Halftime Ceremony at field level during the
ODSL Night with D.C. United on Saturday, May 9th.
To celebrate the news, the team-sponsored a pizza party at Poplar Tree Park
after training on a cold February night. Coach Christine Brown stated, "I'm very
proud of the players for their conduct on and off the field. Although we
outplayed most of our opponents last season, it means a great deal to us that
they still respected and recognized our efforts by voting to give us this
award."
Predators U15 Champions at NVSC Fall Classic

After a hard fought tournament schedule with results of 2-2-0, the Predators
came out on top as Champions of the Gold Division in the NVSC Fall Classic. This
is a great accomplishment given that eight of the fourteen players were new to
the team in the Fall. What a difference a season can make! The boys had to
overcome a shortage of players at the tournament (12) and an injury in the final
game. The boys worked extremely hard and their determination paid off as they
managed a 0-0 score against their toughest competition. Congratulations to the
Predators for their fantastic accomplishment!

Chantilly Burn Defends State Title
The U-14 Girls defending state
champions returned to the 2008 Virginia State Cup Semi-Finals on May 17th.
Facing the McLean Strikers on Saturday, the competition was as tough as expected.
After two overtimes, the game came down to PK's with the Burn winning and
returning to the Championship game. In the Championship game, the Burn was
looking at a familiar foe in the BRYC
Santos. Regulation ended tied at 1-1 and in the second overtime period, Chantilly hit the net to secure the win and
back-to-back State Cup Championships. The Burn would like thank the Virginia
Youth Soccer Association personnel for organizing and putting on a top-notch

Panthers '96 White Chill and Thrill at
the PWSI Icebreaker
On a cold and windy weekend the Chantilly Panthers '96 White U11 girls
turned in an outstanding effort posting four straight shut out victories and
freezing out the competition at the PWSI Icebreaker. The Panthers used their
speed and skill advantage to control the flow of each game and dominate in time
of possession. A stifling defense allowed very few opportunities to our
opponents and forced them to play much of the game in the shadow of their own
nets. On offense the Panther girls showed great ball control and passing skill
allowing them to score 10 goals of their own in tough conditions as they walked
away with a perfect 4-0-0 record and the tournament championship. Way to go
Panthers!
Strikers compete in Jefferson Cup and Arlington Invitational
In
early March 2008, the Strikers competed in the top divisions of the

In both tournaments, while not advancing to the finals, the boys
completed the competitions without a loss and gained valuable
individual and team experience.

WAGS season. The U14 Burn,
completed a great year in which they won the U13 State Cup, in leading Division 1 with an 8-2-0
record. The Hotspur, a U13 Division 2 team, had a perfect season going 9-0-0, outscoring their competition 23-4 and will be moving up to Division 1 in the Spring. The U12 Revolution ’95 led their division with

successful 2007 fall campaign where the Burn competed in four tournaments;
winning two championships and two finalist results.
